Monsters announce 2018-19' theme nights schedule



The current schedule of Theme Night offers is below:


Saturday, Oct. 13 vs Ontario - Youth Hockey Night presented by Fresno Jr. Monsters

This special night will be a chance to showcase and honor our youth hockey players here in the Central Valley. The night will kick off with a ceremonial puck drop by Mayor Lee Brand. There will be a scrimmage game during intermission featuring a few of our Jr. Monsters. The youth hockey program will also have a booth set up on the concourse with a silent auction. (Auction items TBA). They will be handing out free “Learn to Play” vouchers which is a class that takes place once a week that teaches beginners the basics of hockey.


Saturday, Oct. 20 vs Long Beach - Raiders Blackout presented by Raiders of the Central Valley

Raiders Blackout is an opportunity to introduce football fans to hockey. The Raiders of the Central Valley will have a booth getting fellow NFL fans excited about hockey and acquainted with their booster club. We will also be creating our very own “Black Hole” in a designated section of Selland Arena. Limited collectors shirts will be available, and we will also have a special guest appearance from “The Cannon”, a professional crowd entertainer who will be shooting free give-away's all night through his signature cannon!


Friday, Nov. 16 vs Valencia - Public Safety

On this night we honor the men and women who serve Fresno. From cops to EMT’s and Fire Fighters. The game will begin with a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives serving our city. The National Anthem will be accompanied by the official presenting of colors. Followed by the ceremonial puck drop, which will be the honor of police chief Jerry Dyer. All public safety workers will receive discount admittance to the game. During intermission, we will have a “Cops vs Fire” game to poke fun at some of the age old rivalry. This night will also be the start of our themed "Freedom" jersey auction, giving our fans a chance to bid on our game worn ‘Freedom Weekend’ themed Monsters jerseys!


Saturday, Nov. 17 vs Valencia - Military Appreciation benefiting Central Valley Honor Flight

Military Appreciation is about honoring those who serve in all branches of the Military. The National Anthem will be accompanied by the official presenting of colors. Following will be the ceremonial puck drop which will be the honor of a Veteran (TBA). All fans who currently serve will receive discounted admittance to the game. Our players will be wearing special themed "Freedom" jerseys which will be presented as gifts to certain prominent figures in the service and city. All themed jerseys from our ‘Freedom Weekend’ games will be auctioned off after the game to the winning bidders!


Saturday, Nov. 24 vs Utah - Teddy Bear Toss benefiting Toys for Tots

All fans who bring a stuffed animal will get discounted admittance into the game, where they will get the chance to throw their stuffed animals onto the ice following the Fresno Monsters first goal. The ceremonial puck drop will be the honor of Santa and his elves whom will be in attendance all night for pictures and meet and greet. Toys for Tots will have drop boxes set up throughout the concourse and the Monsters mascot, ‘Deke’, will be giving away one giant teddy bear to one lucky fan at random!


Saturday, Jan. 5 vs San Diego - Rodeo Night presented by Kiss Country

Rodeo Night is all about our Central Valley pride, cowboy heritage and of course, country music. All fans who wear a cowboy hat will get discounted admittance to the game. The Fresno State rodeo team, The Bulldoggers, will be dropping the ceremonial puck as well as signing autographs in the concourse throughout the game. Gnarly Charley and Jodi Jo from KISS Country will be in attendance interacting with the crowd and hosting a dance battle. During the 1st intermission, there will be a guest performance from the Ice Skating Club of Fresno.


Friday, Jan. 11 vs Ontario - Hockey Heritage Night featuring the Fresno Falcons

Join us and we take a look into our past and honor those who paved the way for hockey in Fresno. The ceremonial puck drop will be the honor of a former Fresno Falcon(TBA). All fans wearing Fresno Falcon jerseys will be given discounted admittance into the game. Many former Falcons will be in attendance signing autographs and meeting fans. Our team will be wearing vintage themed jerseys, and fans will have a chance to begin biding on these jerseys in our silent auction!


Saturday, Jan. 12 vs Ontario - "My job depends on Ag" Night benefiting AG One Fresno State

This special theme night will be one to remember. It will be a night to honor our hard working local farmers, as well as celebrate our Central Valley agricultural pride. We will be kicking off the night with Steven Malanca, founder of “My Job Depends on AG”, conducting the ceremonial puck drop. Followed by a mini farmers market right inside Selland arena! Not to mention country music all night to add to the atmosphere. Concluding the night we will be auctioning off our game worn themed vintage jerseys!


Saturday, Jan. 19 vs Valencia - Star Wars Night benefiting Fresno United Neighborhoods

Join the Monsters as they join the Empire to rid the universe of all Rebel Scum! All fans who cosplay as characters will get discounted tickets as well as a chance to win our costume contest which will take place during the 1st intermission. With special appearance by the 501st Legion for meet and greet and photo opportunities with props! Our players will also be wearing a special Star Wars themed jersey which will be auctioned off to our fans. Last but not least, proper Star Wars theme track music all night to get out of this world!


*All discounted tickets offered on theme nights must be bought at the Selland Arena box office on the day of the game
