Gameday - Jan. 10 vs Las Vegas

Series History vs. Las Vegas

This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Fresno and the newest member of the Western Division - Las Vegas, with the Thunderbirds holding a 4-0 advantage in the series. Fresno lost the last meeting in the series, however, still hold a 14pt advantage in first place of the west.

Las Vegas also will be missing a few of their star players for the rest of the season - it was announced last night that the top four scorers from the Las Vegas Thunderbirds, Tomas Urbanec, Emil Svartbro, Christoffer Juvas, and Filip Nordin, have been involved in a multi-team trade to start the new year.

"The El Paso Rhinos acquired WSHL All-Time Goals leader, Urbanec, and Vegas' second highest scoring defenseman, Nordin, as the arms race for the Thorne Cup commences. In return, Vegas receives Mikhail Gerasin and Austen Kerridge plus cash considerations.

Juvas and Svartbro were dealt to the Ogden Mustangs giving them the addition of a skilled first year scorer in Svartbro, and a puck-moving defensemen in Juvas." - via wshl.org
