Monsters welcome 11 newcomers to the 2020-21 roster



FRESNO, CA -- Late Monday afternoon, Fresno Monsters head coach Cody Key has officially announced eleven of the newcomers of his incoming class of players for the 2020-21 season.


"We're proud to welcome in these eleven young men to our Fresno family," Monsters head coach Cody Key said. "Each one of these athletes brings something different to our group as far as their individual skillset. They also all possess a tremendous work ethic and team-first attitude with a strong commitment to our program."


Leon Biller

5'10", 160 - Forward (Göteborg, SWE)

Before Monsters: Leon played for the Valencia Flyers in the Western States Hockey League for the 2019-20 season... Played in 42 games with 22 goals, 23 assists, and 45 points.


Drew Brett

5'10", 150 - Defense (California, USA)

Before Monsters: Drew previously played for the Fresno Junior Monsters varsity team. The 2020-21 season will be his rookie season in the United States Premier Hockey League.


Charles-Émile Duciaume

6'2", 195 - Defense (Mashteuiatsh, QC, CAN)

Before Monsters: Charles played for Sag-Lac Midget Espoir in the QMEAA... Played in 27 games total with 5 goals, 3 assists, and 8 points... Drafted 2019, #105 overall by Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the QMJHL Entry Draft.


Nikita Eruslanov

6'2", 191 - Forward (Moskva, RUS)

Before Monsters: Nikita played for the Almaguin Spartans from 2018 to 2020 in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League... Played in 68 games total with 34 goals, 27 assists, and 61 points.


Jacob Gagnon

5'11", 160 - Forward (California, USA)

Before Monsters: Jacob previously played for the Fresno Junior Monsters before moving onto the L.A. Kings High School Hockey League where he played for the Kern County Knights. The 2020-21 season will be his rookie season in the United States Premier Hockey League.


Hunter Garant

6'0", 155 - Forward (California, USA)

Before Monsters: Hunter played for the Valencia Flyers in the Western States Hockey League for the 2019-20 season... Played in 42 games total with 3 goals, 7 assists, and 10 points.


Seamas Killian

6'0", 170 - Defense (California, USA)

Before Monsters: Seamas played for the Muskoka Anglers in the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League for the 2019-20 season... Played in 30 games total with 2 goals, 0 assists, and 2 points.


Knute Loe

6'0", 165 - Goalie (Fort Nelson, BC, CAN)

Before Monsters: Knute spent half of the 2019-20 season playing for the Campbell River Storm in the VIJHL before getting called up to the Superior International Junior Hockey League to play for the Dryden Ice Dogs... In the SIJHL he played in 14 games total with a 3.79 GAA and .893 SV%.


Kiel Nance

6'1", 220 - Forward (California, USA)

Before Monsters: Kiel played for the Las Vegas Thunderbirds in the Western States Hockey League for the 2019-20 season... Played in 41 games total with 4 goals, 7 assists, and 11 points.


MacRae Setoguchi

6'0", 176 - Forward (Lethbridge, AB, CAN)

Before Monsters: MacRae spent half of the 2019-20 season playing for former Monsters coach Kevin Kaminski at the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League before going to the Superior International Junior Hockey League to play for the Dryden Ice Dogs... He finished the season with 40 games total with 1 goal, 8 assists, and 8 points. Won the AMHL Championship in 2017-18 with the Lethbridge Hurricanes U18 AAA.


Anthony Testa

6'0", 178 - Goalie (Québec, QC, CAN)

Before Monsters: Anthony played for École Cardinal-Roy (JuvD1) in the HSMJ D1... He finished the season with a 3.91 GAA.


Head Coach Cody Key is set to announce this season's class of returning players later this week.
