Fresno win streak halted by Thunderbirds

The Fresno Monsters (6-1-0) saw their six-game win streak come to an end in a 2-1 loss to the Las Vegas Thunderbirds (7-0-0) on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT WENT DOWN Both teams saw early penalties to start off the first period, Dumoulin got an interference call putting Vegas on the first power play of the game where Lackas was able to take advantage and put the Thunderbirds on the board first. Fresno wouldn't get on the board until the second when Gavrilenko got a goal assisted by Nick Leech - this would end up being Fresno's only goal of the game. Husby got the game-winning goal early in the third for Las Vegas.

LOOKING AHEAD Game 2 of the three-game series in Las Vegas takes place tomorrow at noon.
