The Fresno Monsters (9-2-0) tasted victory once again in game two against Southern Oregon (0-5-0) with a final score of 11-0.
HOW IT WENT DOWN Fresno saw Kevin Brennan in his third appearance between the pipes tonight after his 2nd win of the season last night.
Triston Mirasty would open the game up within two minutes of the puck drop and while the Monsters were the only ones on the penalty sheet last night that wouldn't be the case for this game. Biller and Gavrilenko would also score during the first.
The game really came alive during the second when Drew Brett got his first goal of the season. Southern Oregon wasn't happy with the call and Jake DeBelser got benched. Leech would get the Monsters their first short-handed goal of the night followed by Killian which instigated a large fight in front of the Spartans net resulting in four players being sent to the box.
Svensson would take advantage of this time to put not one but two goals in the back of the net within 30secs of each other.
Leech and Mirasty would start off the third with a goal apiece. If there was one thing made clear in tonight's game it was that both teams were not happy with the refs. After a tilt between Spartans Rothmeier and Monsters Paul-Edward, assistant captain Jackson Bauml would be escorted out of the game for disputing a referee's ruling.
Fresno's points leader Leon Biller would get the second and final goal of the night.
LOOKING AHEAD Fresno looks to sweep the series in Game 3 tomorrow against Southern Oregon. The puck drops at 11 am.
